CrossCom and Lencore team-up aims to improve office efficiency with sound-masking solution
Special speakers, like the one seen above, are installed above the ceiling panels and produce ambient background sound.

Buffalo Grove-based CrossCom National and Lencore Acoustics Corp. have formed a strategic alliance to offer 24/7 installation services for sound masking systems worldwide.

Designed to reduce noise in both open and closed offices, Lencore sound-masking systems offer a means of enhancing employee productivity. They introduce an unobtrusive, ambient background sound into offices and other areas through special speakers installed above the ceiling panels.

The systems render speech unintelligible to those outside the vicinity while reducing interference from distracting sounds. In addition, the sound level can be adjusted to suit a variety of conditions and privacy requirements.

CrossCom, the leading retail voice and data communications network integrator in North America and Europe will provide turnkey sound masking installations nationally for Lencore. The new alliance continues to expand CrossCom’s wide range of products and services and “we are pleased to find that Lencore’s corporate ideologies and uncompromising attentiveness meets with our own similar commitments to customer focus and relationship building,” says Jennifer Spade, CrossCom’s Chief Business Development Officer.

“Our relationship with CrossCom is an exciting addition to our existing customer service and support network and will allow us to install sound masking systems in virtually any location nationwide 24/7 and 365 days a year,” says Jonathan Leonard, Vice President of Lencore Acoustics Corp.

As sound masking awareness and sales continue to rise, the two companies are currently having success as they tackle the healthcare industry’s questions on HIPAA.

HIPAA stands for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and requires that all healthcare providers and facilities protect personal health information (PHI). This includes information in electronic, paper, and oral forms.

Lencore, who is already recognized as an industry leader in providing oral privacy, has met ASTM standard testing requirements for speech (oral) privacy and now offers oral privacy solutions to pharmacies, hospitals, doctor’s offices, military medical facilities, insurance offices, and other medical facilities in addition to the list of Fortune 500 corporations it services.

With a looming HIPAA compliance date of April 14, 2003 and heavy penalties for non-compliance, sound-masking solutions may offer the added insurance and protection to maintain compliance.
